JonFMRight so I am starting to make some music again after the eddyfink split. Also keeping the content up here to grab any old eddyfink fans and push them to our new projects. Andy's new band are pretty similar to fink in some ways so don't miss them out. He is definitely following his more highly-charged pop leanings and this comes out in the demos you can hear on their myspace. Martin's band are really a power trio and have taken a grandiose rock route. They are not afraid of stepping over the five minute mark with their songs. This always a contentious issue with managers and A+R men and it is a terible shame as so many fans of that kind of music seem to relish these undertakings. Look at Sigur Ros or The Mars Volta for inspiration. Anyway seeing work live is like watching a stripped to the bare metal version of Radiohead with less complaining and more balls. Do check them out. So what am I up to? Well I have started working on some songs with the skinny-boned Jim Scully. Really early stages yet but it is very different to eddyfink. Fans of Joseph Arthur should like it is all I am saying at this point.
Reviews & love for EddyfinkMeefo: Eddyfink Eddyfink's current single does what many of their more well-known contemporaries fail to, by grabbing us right by the balls with Andy Pisanu's voice of conviction. 'We will believe anything that you say' a possible articulation of the frustration at our all too easy manipulation by today's politicians, where most bands would opt for the safe option of an intro, this quartet waste no time. Where are they now?Andy Pisanu, the lead singer is part of a new venuture: The Poor Souls of Pompeii (you may recognise him in the video. Martin Moore is drumming for the sensational new band Work, although I hear their name may change pretty soon. He also enjoys giving drumming lessons - so if you are interested - get in touch! Jonathan Moore (keys, guitars etc) has finally started work on a new project to be blogged very soon. He is currently helping Work mix some live material. Alexis, the band's original lead guitarists (in both senses of the word) has completely re-learned his guitar and vocal skills and the word is some new material is on the way from him plus a possible live incarnation. The Death of EddyfinkLooking back now on the five or so years of Eddyfink it is hard not to have a little regret that it ended. We found so many links to the old web site that I finally thought I might aswell put something back up here about the band, in part so people who still stumble on us can find out what the fuss was about but mainly so you can see what we are all up to now. I'll fill in a bit more about our history here as I get the time, but you can find out quite a lot on our myspace. |
